Name: Haruhi Fujioka

Gender: Female.......but she pretends to be male.
Age and year/Age and job: 15, ninth grade
Appearance: Haruhi has boyishly short brown hair and brown eyes. Her eyes are sometimes described as 'large and shining', but this is merely due to the contacts she wears. She has a very slender build, causing her to lack certain feminine features, and is also rather short. Due to the fact that she dresses in boys' clothes and doesn't confirm or deny whether she is a boy or girl to others, many people see her as a feminine-looking, gay boy. Honestly, she doesn't really care if that's how they want to see her.
Personality: Haruhi is above all independent and straight-forward and believes that your gender should not define your personality. Since she was raised differently from most people, she displays more practical, down to earth, responsible qualities. Haruhi has a deeper voice than other females, so she is not easily recognized as a girl.
Although habitually unflappable, it is shown that she fears thunderstorms (I swear I did not mean to create two characters who were afraid of thunderstorms, it just sorta happened), which terrify her to the point that she is stricken with paralysis. She enjoys peace and quiet, doesn't mind working, and is a fanatic about fancy tuna. Haruhi is described as "apathetic" when it comes to making some decisions. Haruhi is sometimes unaware of her own feelings. If she is ridiculing someone and pointing out all their bad points and how much he/she annoys her, it usually means she cares for them. She's just not very good at showing it.
Canon history: Haruhi is an intelligent first-year student from a middle-class family who attends the Ouran Academy on a special scholarship. She joined the Ouran Host Club to pay off an ¥8,000,000 debt after breaking an expensive vase which was for an auction. At first, due to her short hair and androgynous clothes, everyone thinks that she is a boy. Even after the club found out her true gender, Haruhi still dresses in the male uniform and pretends to be male so she can work off her debt as a host.

AU history: Haruhi has been raised by her father (a crossdresser like herself) since her mother died when she was five. Her mother was a lawyer, and she wishes to follow in her footsteps; in order to do so, she applied for one of the most prestigious schools, Ouran Academy. She got in, of course, the smart little girl, and hopped onto the boat to cross the sea to get there. Unfortunately, it looks like she's not gonna make it.
She inherited her love for crossdressing from her father, although it is more of an 'I-don't-really-care-what-people-think-about-me-and-boys'-clothes-are-easier-to-wear' sort of feeling. This is why she applied to Ouran as a boy, since it would be easier to get in as one, and she'd rather not have to deal with prejudice against female lawyers until after she became one.

Haruhi looked around her on the boat. It was pretty crowded and loud on the top deck, which luckily she had managed to avoid during most of the journey. Unfortunately, her school entrance forms had been blown up there by the sea breeze, and she really needed those for when she got to Ouran. She could already feel a headache coming on as she walked around the top deck, searching for her papers. Her eyebrow twitched in annoyance as a beach ball bounced off her head. Finally, she spotted two girls holding her papers, looking at them curiously. She approached them, scratching the back of her head. “Excuse me, those are mine,” she announced, and the girls looked up at her and giggled. She sighed, pulling on the hem of her boy’s T-shirt, waiting for them to get over their girl giggle fit at how cute the boy in front of them was and just hand her the damn papers already!
