Personality: Mark is one of those people that tends to like everything. He's agreeable, which leads to people taking advantage of him by asking him to do things for them. He loves plants and animals, which is why he owns a farm. If anyone were to give him a gift, he would love it simply because he was given a gift. He loves making friends, but is actually kind of shy at first for someone who is so outgoing.
Of course, he does have some things that he doesn't like. Thunderstorms are one. They're scary, and they prevent him from working on the farm. And they're scary. He also has an irrational fear of mushrooms. Those darn things just pop out of nowhere, spreading and spreading, taking over his precious farm space, and they poison the poor little animals that eat them! It's a conspiracy!
Canon history: Mark used to live in the city, but at the young age of 15, he decided he was tired of that life. It was too noisy and such. So he got on a boat, which ran into a thunderstorm, and he washed up on the shore of an island. Here, he and a few other survivors found an abandoned village, and he was assigned the part of farmer. The Harvest Goddess and her sprites helped him along the way to make a gorgeous farm and bring the village to life. Eventually, other people found their island and moved in. Mark loves his life on the island farm.
~AU Info~
AU history: Pretty much the same as canon history. Mark grew up in the city, but didn't like it there. It was slowly deteriorating his health, and there were no plants and animals to be found in the city, and those were his favorite things in the world! He doesn't really like electronics that much, and books about plants and animals can only entertain but so far. His parents agreed happily, having the same personality as their son, to send him off on a boat so he could farm to his heart's content somewhere beautiful, hopefully sending a little support money back to the family. Yeah, they were probably taking advantage of their son, but he didn't really care. He was just excited to finally get a chance to farm!
Out of all the towns, Mark would want to live in Calida. That would be the best climate for a farm, and the most varied amount of crops can grow there. Animals also like that climate better. With a more varied type of people living there, he could make more varied friends. Also, he still goes to school, so he would prefer to go to the Spring class, I guess. It is the season of growing things, after all. Mark's dream is to own the most successful farm, with tons of varied crops and prized animals.
Other: Mark also owns a small floppy-eared puppy named Fido. Someday, it will grow up to be a great help on the farm, but for now it's just an adorable puppy that is occasionally useful.

Mark raced along the edge of the field. “Fido? Fido, where are you?” he called out. The little puppy had been missing for the whole day now, and he was starting to get worried. He got to the end of the small farming field, reaching the fenced-in pasture for the animals. Only his cow and recently purchased horse were grazing right now. A small bark caught his attention. Jumping over the fence, he searched the tall grass, until he finally spotted a flash of brown color. “Fido!” He pushed through the grass and pulled out his tiny puppy. Fido licked his face happily. “Silly puppy, you’re too small to play in here!”
