"Hm?" Tarik looked where Mark was pointing, and noticed the boy; he did stand out amongst her people. Nodding, Tarik released Bartre, and made her way to the boy. "[Excuse me! Are you from here?]" she called out in her native tongue, just in case he happened to be from Adonia. The chances were slim, but it was worth a try.

Aban gave a confused look at the girl as approached him. Then he noticed the man and boy on the..what was that? He gave up trying to figure out what it was. But he did recognize the man and boy from the ship. He had passed the man in the halls every once in a while and the boy...well he saw him on the deck with his puppy. He shook his head a little, wincing at the small jab of pain shooting through the inside of his mind, and kept walking not wanting to really get involved.

Mark jumped off of Bartre as he watched the boy start to walk off. "Hey wait, don't leave please! I'm glad someone my own age survived that crash." He placed a hand on the older boy's shoulder, grinning at him, hoping he wouldn't leave him alone with the two adults. Fido jumped on Mark's back, front paws clinging to his shoulder, and barked at the boy, wagging his tail.

Alan stayed on the creature, watching Mark deal with the other boy. He figured that it would be best to leave the kid to it, rather than crowding the already skittish one. Instead, he looked at Tarik.
"So, this is the main town? I like it. Are there... Are there cafes?"

Aban looked at the boy and his dog. He really didn't like talking to new people, but if the boy really wanted him to stay...and where else did he have to go? He gave a small sigh. "Alright. I guess, I'll stay around. But I am not riding on that," he looked at Bartre then back at the boy. "I'm not sure what it is. I prefer walking." He fought the urge to shrink away and put his headphones back on over his ears and cut on his music. So far, the boy seemed to not want to hurt him, but he was more leery of the man. He pushed all of that aside in his mind and gave a small smile.

Tarik nodded at Alan to answer him, before returning her attention to the boy. "Welcome to Adonia." She smiled, placing a hand on Mark's shoulder. "I promise, Bartre," she motioned towards the beast, "is not harmful. All the creatures here are quite docile, so long as you stay near the town."

Mark returned the boy's smile with a big one of his own. "Like Tarik said, Bartre's not gonna hurt you! We've been traveling around on his back for a while now. Anyway, it's nice to meet you! My name's Mark, and this is Fido; what's yours?" He stuck his gloved hand out in greeting.

Alan was thankful. At least there was SOMETHING to look forward to. He could use a good coffee.
He noticed that the kid seemed more wary of him than of Mark. He blinked, but then sighed. He probably DID give off a bad vibe. He gave the kid the most innocent smile he could muster, and a small wave.

Aban nodded ever so slightly, so as to not cause pain to shoot through his mind, at the girl. He bit the inside of his cheek a little and gave the man a slight smile. He still didn't trust him, but he would try to get along with him. He didn't do anything to him...and he definitely wasn't his father. He looked at the other boy. "Good to meet you Mark. And you too Fido. My name is Aban."

Tarik folded her arms behind her back, as she had earlier, to show that she meant no harm. "Aban. I am Tarik." She extended a hand to him, smiling warmly.

Mark lowered his hand dejectedly. It didn't seem like Aban wanted to shake it. He tilted his head as he stared at the boy for a moment. "Are you hurt, Aban?"

Alan looked at the boy, pleased that he had at least gotten a small smile. Then he looked at him closer. He didn't seem HURT to Alan, just... shy. And maybe a little avoiding of people. Not too unfamiliar to Alan; it was like looking at a younger version of himself.

Aban looked at the girl's outstretched hand and ignored it. He wasn't trying to seem rude, he just wasn't one for a lot of physical contact. He looked at Mark and gave a small shrug. "I mean, I do have a few cuts and what not from the wreck... But they don't bother me any." he let the last part end in a small mumble.

Since he ignored her hand, Tarik figured that he must be accustomed to her people's way of greeting each other. Quickly, she wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tightly with a laugh. After releasing him, she glanced over to Alan. "You want to go to a cafe?"

Mark narrowed his eyes, crossing his arms and leaning forward slightly. He was worried about Aban after all! "You're not lying are you? Lying's not nice, and it won't help you get better any faster." The mumbling at the end of his sentence had been Mark's biggest clue that he wasn't telling the truth about it not bothering him.
