Alan gave the Queen a smile. "We were led here by a young woman." He blinked down at the new man.
"Um... Were you on the ship with us?"

Mark couldn't help but laugh at the strange-looking man who had fallen near them. The laughter was a bit strained, considering he was still kind of freaked out, but at least it was something. His trip seemed to be the exact thing Mark needed to finally calm down some and return to his normal self. As Alan talked, he took a seat at the table, a few chairs away from the Queen, and waited eagerly for the food to arrive. Fido took the seat next to him.

Anji picked himself up off the floor, dusting his pants off. "Baka baka baka..." He muttered under his breath, whacking himself lightly in the head with his folding fan. He shook out his hair and smiled his most charming smile. "Konichiwa, everyone! The name's Anji Mito. I was with you all on the ship, but I was held back by these." He shook out his arms and several pairs of folding fans fell out. "A good performer never leaves his props behind." He grinned sheepishly.

Aban stared at the man who had fallen, not even showing the slightest sign of a smile. He moved a little closer to the table behind Mark and Fido. Letting out a small, quiet sigh he pulled one of his earphones up to his ear and cut on his ipod. He changed the music to classical and let it start to calm him down. He could start to feel the dull pain of his cuts from the wreck now and just ignored it all. He leaned against the back of Mark's chair slightly as he looked around the room, taking in his surroundings.

"Oh?" Betra leaned a bit towards Alan, interest in her eyes. "Who?" she asked. Then, she jumped a bit as the new boy fell into the room. "Oh my! Are you alright?" She placed a hand over her chest, as if to calm her heart. Just then, a long cart overflowing with food was wheeled in. On the top, appetizers of different varieties, on the second shelf, entrees, and on the last, desserts. Some foods may have looked similar to what the boys were used to, however, others didn't. Betra grinned. "Good! Dig in boys!" she cried, as several butlers laid out the food before the boys.

Alan went over to the food, looking at the Queen briefly. With Tarik's reaction to the Queen, would it be wise to tell the Queen that it was Tarik?
"Batre's master, if you know who that is." He said simply. It was a sly notion. If she knew Batre, maybe she was trustworthy...

Mark dug into the food, trying to pick around the stuff he recognized as meat, or at least looked like meat. He didn't want to be rude or anything, by not eating it, but he didn't go anywhere near meat when he could avoid it. Fish and eggs were ok, but most other meats he couldn't stand. With his mouth full of food, he listened to Alan talk to the Queen, wondering why he just didn't say it was Tarik. But then, she had mentioned something about the Queen hating her, right? Maybe he should keep his mouth shut and not mention her then.

Anji's eyes widened to the size of saucers when he saw the tray of foods. He immediately grabbed a seat and tore right into the food, grabbing anything and everything that caught his eye. He hadn't eaten anything since the ship crashed, and everything looked delicious! *Itadakimasu!" He murmured around a mouthful of what tasted a lot like squid, just less rubbery and considerably saltier. He glanced over at the queen. Something about her just made his skin crawl. It seemed like she was hiding something, and Anji didn't want to be there when things turned ugly. He nervously bit into a turkey(?) leg, trying to get his mind off of the gnawing feeling in his gut.

Aban leaned around the chair Mark was in and picked at some of the food. He munched on it as he listened to the conversation and his music. He also watched everyone else in the room, making sure to keep everything in his line of sight. He didn't like the feeling in his gut, but also didn't want to go back out into the freezing cold...not like he would have been able to anyway.

Betra's eyes widened, as did her grin. Of course she knew Bartre. She had been there when Tarik's parents gave her the little beast. But that's when she was just a little brat. "You mean Tarik?" she squealed, clapping her hands together in joy. "My little niece! She's alive!"

Alan sighed. Well she HAD guessed... "Yes, Tarik. And, she IS alive." He looked at her. This was a very different story than what they'd heard from Tarik herself. Although, he'd supposed she WAS some relation to the Queen...
"What did you think happened to her?"

Mark's eyes widened at Alan's question. His mouth half-full he said, "Wha' 'oo you 'ean." He swallowed and continued. "Tarik told us what happened. She said the Queen killed her family. Queenie probably thought she had died along with them."

Aban stopped munching and let go of his earphones, cutting off his ipod. He listened, the sinking feeling he got when he was young whenever he heard his dad's car door shut now getting stronger. He moved to the other side of Mark, trying to get farther away from the queen but making it look like he was just seeing what else there was for him to munch on. He went to reach to get something and lowered his voice. "I don't like it here. Do you think we can leave?" he asked Mark as he grabbed some food and straightened back up, eating what he had picked up.

At Mark's words, the queen pressed a hand against her chest, grief written all over her face. "She thought that I killed them? Why, I loved my sister and brother-in-law! They were my only family!" Tears welled in her eyes, and she wiped them away quickly. "There was a revolt, and her parents were killed, and Tarik was kidnapped! Oh, what have they filled her head with?!" A guard came over with a handkerchief and handed it to her. Betra dabbed at her eyes and chest, trying to calm herself. "My sweet little niece, turned against me by the evil of the world..."
